What is the difference between high pressure airless and air sprayer?
The difference between high pressure airless and air sprayer is the principal of air atomizing spray. High-pressure airless sprayer use pressure to atomize paint sprayer, so spray gun doesn’t need to rely on compressed air to assist in atomizing the paint. Because the high-pressure airless sprayer spraying area is extremely wide really, so it’s suitable for application on the hull, container, large buildings, and wall and floors of the new building. Using airless sprayer also less material waste than air sprayer
Airless sprayer equipment can be divided into three types: Electrical, Pneumatic, & Hydraulic. There are advantages and disadvantages, Here as follow :
1. Advantages:
- A wide spray volume of paint, high working efficiency, increase efficiency up to 60-80%
- Can spray high viscous material and get uniform coating layer
- Material dilution relatively low, the higher layer thickness can be achieved in one spray
- Not using air compressed directly in the spray gun, so the oil and moisture are not easy to penetrate the paint material.
- The spray paint no need much recovery time, which can save the amount of paint.
2. Disadvantages:
- Can not adjust the amount of paint spray like air spraying.
- If there is not enough pressure during the start and final spraying phases, the sprayed particle will be more uneven.
- Spray material coating with a lot of extender pigments (solid particles with various particulate size) can easily cause nozzle blockage.
- The spraying volume of the paint is large and wide, not suitable for coat small objects or complex shapes.
- Due to the high-pressure operation, the knowledge of operators must be strengthened.
